Nikola Jokic declared he’s “playing the best basketball of my life” after leading the Denver Nuggets to a commanding 144-109 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA.
The three-time MVP notched his fourth consecutive triple-double and his 13th of the season, propelling the Nuggets to their third straight win. Jokic recorded 27 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists before sitting out the fourth quarter at Ball Arena in Denver.
Speaking to TNT, Jokic said, “We’re not where we’re supposed to be, but we’re trying to find the rhythm.” The Nuggets currently sit fourth in the Western Conference standings, while the 76ers are 11th in the East.
Meanwhile, LeBron James made history by becoming only the second player aged 40 or older to register a triple-double. The Los Angeles Lakers star posted 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists in a dominant 111-88 win over the Washington Wizards at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
James joins Karl Malone as the only players over 40 to achieve a triple-double, with Malone accomplishing the feat in 2003 while playing for the Lakers. The Lakers are now sixth in the Western Conference, while the Wizards remain at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
