The Golden State Warriors endured their worst home defeat under head coach Steve Kerr, suffering a crushing 125-85 loss to the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics dominated from start to finish, handing the Warriors their heaviest home loss since a 45-point blowout by the Dallas Mavericks in 1985. Despite Kerr’s illustrious tenure with Golden State—winning four championships since taking over in 2014—the team was no match for Boston’s relentless performance.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 22 points, while Kristaps Porzingis and Jaylen Brown added 18 and 17 points, respectively. The Celtics pulled away with a commanding 43-point third quarter, building on a 15-point halftime lead and solidifying their dominance.
“We’ve got to flush this one down the toilet and get ready for Sac,” Kerr said, referencing their upcoming game against the Sacramento Kings. Reflecting on the season, he added, “We’ve been very competitive all year. Our guys have fought, but we’ve had a handful of these where we get blown out. These are demoralizing.”
The Warriors, who last won the NBA title in 2022 by defeating the Celtics in the Finals, are now 11th in the Western Conference, sitting just outside playoff contention. On the other hand, the Celtics, second in the Eastern Conference behind the Cleveland Cavaliers, continue to solidify their position as a title contender.
